Harrison St Early Education


Harrison St Early Education  is a not-for-profit community based early childhood service established in 1985 to provide affordable quality education and care for families.

The service is approved to operate by the Department of Education and is accredited as EXCEEDING the National Quality Standards for Early Childhood Education and Care.

Harrison St Early Education operates three rooms to cater for enrolments of up to 12 children in the Early Learners (0 – 2.5 years), 15 children in the Transitional Learners (2 – 3.5 years) and 26 children in the Preschool (3 – 5 years) environment. The outdoor areas boast attractive and stimulating playgrounds for children to explore and learn.

The service currently caters for 53 children across the service providing a quality and educational environment that promotes children’s well-being, development and learning.

Harrison St Early Education offers educator to child ratios that exceed the standards, preschool programs delivered by university trained teachers, nutritional meals, vast natural play environments for children to explore and learn, a safe premises in a great location and car parking.

Harrison St Early Education is not-for-profit putting children first and investing any surplus in the quality of the service. The service is managed by an experienced director and parent committee whose contribution is vital to the principles of community management and ownership.

The stability of the staff is a key strength at Harrison St Early Education; many of the staff have been at the Service between 10-20 years. This is a clear indication of staff satisfaction and how happy educators are at the service.

Harrison St Early Education is a reputable long day care service providing affordable, high quality education for children. Our play based curriculum engages each child in rich and meaningful learning experiences that develop essential skills for learning and transition to school.
